Telecommuting

In Telecommuting, the employee works one or more days from home and is available during normal work hours, unless other arrangements are made and approved by the supervisor. Human Resources recommends that a consistent schedule be established.

Overtime rules apply for non-exempt employees who work in excess of 40 hours in one week (time and a half).

The daily work hours for an employee's telecommuting day(s) should be arranged in advance with his/her supervisor. It is expected that the employee will be available and reachable during the department's normal work hours, unless other arrangements are made and approved by the supervisor.

Consider any potential risks related to security of confidential information that may result from accessing University systems remotely. Review the applicable Information Technology policies and guidelines.
