Payroll and Time Reporting for Non-Exempt Employees
Telecommuting
Time Reporting for a telecommuting day should be recorded as it would be for a day in the office. There are no additional steps necessary and no requirement to designate the day as "telecommuting" for Payroll purposes.
Compressed Work Week
Benefits eligible, non-exempt employees can be classified 2 ways for time reporting purposes:
- Exception Hourly - For employees who are classified as "Exception Hourly" in PeopleSoft, the system will automatically generate a timesheet that is pre-populated with 5 days of 8 hours (or 7.5 hours) worked per day. When entering time for these employees, the pre-populated hours will need to be removed, and the expanded hours entered each week.
- Hourly - For employees who are classified as "Hourly" in PeopleSoft, the system will calculate a blank timesheet, and hours will need to be entered each week.
