WorkLife History at SU
WorkLife Past & Present
Assisting employees in managing the demands of modern life has always been an important concern for the University. In 1998, the Chancellor's Task Force on Benefits and WorkLife was charged to "recommend a comprehensive, integrated plan that more closely balances the University's framework of benefits and work/life policies " Many of the benefits we enjoy today are the result of the committee's work:
- Pretax reimbursement accounts for medical and dependent care expenses
- Adoption assistance reimbursement
- Enhanced remitted tuition benefits
- Out-of-state referral system for elder care
- Faculty parental leave policy
- Reduced work hours between December 25 and January 1
- Expanded services at HR satellite office
- Pre-tax payroll parking deductions
