WorkLife History at SU

WorkLife Past & Present

Assisting employees in managing the demands of modern life has always been an important concern for the University. In 1998, the Chancellor's Task Force on Benefits and WorkLife was charged to "recommend a comprehensive, integrated plan that more closely balances the University's framework of benefits and work/life policies…" Many of the benefits we enjoy today are the result of the committee's work:

University efforts to address and improve upon work/life services and issues continue to evolve. The WorkLife Advisory Committee was formed in 2001 to continue the good work of the 1998 task force. The committee identified existing SU work/life practices, researched best practices at other institutions, conducted focus groups with SU employees and recommended initiatives linked to key work/life components. The committee continues its work to enhance and add to these initiatives.

We invite you to join the campus-wide dialogue on work/life issues by completing the online WorkLife Survey at the link below.
