Section 3: Overview of Tools and Forms
The following is a list of tools and forms to be used by managers and staff that support the performance partnership process. They can be easily downloaded in Microsoft word format from our HR website. The forms are formatted in forced format so that you are guided to the sections that require completion. Tables will expand as you enter information. Please contact the HR office if you experience any difficulty in completing these forms.
| Tools Available | Description |
|---|---|
| Review Forms Job Categories II-III Job Category IV Job Category V Job Category VI Job Category VII | There are five (5) different forms available for supervisors and staff to use to provide the formal documentation for the process. The forms are based on the seven job categories that make up the Job Classification Model. Each category level has a different form to better link job expectations to feedback and performance. |
| Pay Administration Handbook | The second phase of the New Approach to Staff Compensation was to provide compensation processes and policies that allowed for more flexibility for supervisors and staff. This handbook also has examples and descriptions of practices to assist in the process of linking pay to performance. |
| Competency Library | Competencies (skills, knowledge and behavioral practices) that are related to the work experiences at Syracuse University have been gathered together for supervisors and staff to use during the Performance Partnership process. This list of competencies also includes behavioral indicators that will describe what one would "see" if a competency was being displayed. This is not a complete or finite list of the employment experience here at the University - it will be a constantly growing tool to employ in the process. |
| Goals/Development Worksheet | This worksheet is designed to create a plan to meet the goals and development activities for supervisors and staff. The worksheet should capture specifics regarding job related goals, activities, projects, etc. This plan will allow supervisors and staff to plan, measure, and track significant accomplishments, growth and progress. This plan is an integral aspect of Performance Partnership. |
| Self-Assessment Worksheet | This is a guide to assist staff members to more effectively participate in the Performance Partnership dialogue with their supervisors. Staff members are encouraged to complete this form prior to the formal performance feedback meeting. |
