Health Care Reimbursement Plan

Employees eligible for the Adjuncts United Benefits Plan purchasing a private health insurance plan are eligible to receive a reimbursement of $100 per credit hour with a $1,000 annual cap.

Employees eligible for the Adjuncts United Benefits Plan purchasing health care insurance through another employer are eligible to receive a reimbursement of $50 per credit hour with a $500 annual cap.

All funds must be used during the benefit plan year (January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2009) and can only be used to reimburse the costs of a private health insurance plan purchased by the bargaining unit member or for contributions to a health insurance plan offered to a bargaining unit member through another employer (other than Syracuse University) when the part-time faculty member is the primary insured.

The per credit hour contribution is calculated on the teaching load and credit hours completed at the end of each semester.

No action is needed during the open enrollment period to elect the Health Care Reimbursement Plan.
