HR partners with Industrial Medical Associates

We are pleased to announce that Syracuse University will be using Industrial Medical Associates (IMA), 961 Canal Street, Syracuse, New York 13210, for return to work physicals and for post-hire physicals effective March 31, 2008.

Employees that are ready to return to active work after an absence of six or more consecutive working days must have his or her attending physician complete HR's Return to Work form prior to the date they anticipate returning to work. If the physician indicates restrictions, the employee must make an appointment to be seen by IMA. HR (Dana Godbold, x5367) will provide the employee with the information needed to make this appointment. There is no co-payment associated with the employee's visit to IMA. Instructions on post-employments physicals will come from departmental hiring managers.

This change, moving to IMA from Syracuse University's Health Services department, will deliver better services to both the employees being served and to the University. Most notably, the services have been streamlined and improved and administrative forms were reviewed and updated. In addition, there will be increased participation from the employee's doctor on an as needed basis and more responsible use of the employee's time. Also with this change, Health Services is better able to focus on their central mission of providing services to students.
