Thirty-one Syracuse University faculty and staff members have entered a total of 73 pieces of art in the University's On My Own Time 2012 exhibition. The artwork is on view from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. through May 17 in the Noble Room of Hendricks Chapel. It also may be viewed online by clicking on this link:
Visitors to the exhibition in Hendricks and viewers of the virtual exhibit online will be able to vote for their favorite piece as "Best in Show," to be determined by a vote count at the close of the exhibition. The link above will take you to the web page where you can view the slideshow of the exhibition and vote. All the artwork on display also will be judged by a panel of professional artists from the Cultural Resources Council. Pieces selected by the CRC panel will be included in a public exhibition at the Everson Museum in the fall.
On My Own Time (OMOT), now in its 39th year, enables businesses to identify and celebrate the artistic talent and creativity of their employees. The local program has become a national model for a rich programmatic partnership between the business and arts communities, nurturing creativity, encouraging personal growth, and enriching quality of life both at work and at home.
The Office of the Chancellor and the Office of Human Resources together brought On My Own Time to SU. The program is sponsored by the Cultural Resources Council in cooperation with the Everson Museum of Art.
