Dental Plan - GA's
Graduate Assistants holding a full academic year appointment are eligible for dental coverage through the University's Delta Dental program. Enrollment is a one-year commitment and premiums are paid through pre-tax payroll deduction. Coverage may also be purchased for dependents. Qualified same sex domestic partner premiums are paid on an after-tax basis.
SU offers two subsidized dental options for eligible GA's: Preventive and Comprehensive.
- The Preventive Plan covers specified diagnostic, preventive, and TMJ services.
- The Comprehensive Plan covers specified diagnostic, preventive, TMJ, basic and major restorative, oral surgery, endodontics, periodontics, and prosthodontics services.
- For dentists that participate in the DeltaPreferred Option network, services fall under the first level, with the lowest required coinsurance.
- For dentists that only participate in the DeltaPremier network (the largest dentist network in the country), services fall under a second level, with generally higher coinsurance than DeltaPreferred providers.
- For dentists that do not participate in either of the above mentioned networks, services fall under a third level, with generally the highest level of coinsurance.
