First Application
All eligible applicants for tuition benefits must complete a Dependent Tuition Benefit Application for each eligible dependent and submit it to the Office of Human Resources for verification of eligibility. Note deadlines for first application, below:
- Dependent Tuition for SU or University College Dependent Tuition Benefit Application should be submitted by the eligible employee no later than November 15 for early decision applicants and December 1 for regular admission applicants. Mail it separately to the Office of Human Resources; do not submit it to the Admissions Office. The Office of Human Resources is responsible for activating tuition benefits. Tuition will be credited to the student's account after the student is officially enrolled in a degree program (matriculated) and the dependent tuition application has been approved.
Applicants for Dependent Tuition Benefits are also required to apply for a New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) award each year the benefits are being used. Consult the Financial Aid website for more information on TAP.
- Tuition Exchange Dependent Tuition Benefit Application and certification form and the Tuition Exchange Request form should be submitted as soon as possible in the fall of the student's senior year in high school, but no later than November 15. In most cases, this is before submitting admissions applications to participating Tuition Exchange schools.
